Car Parking Fines:

The privately owned dental surgery upstairs has installed cameras on their side of the car park. This is clearly marked as "Dental patients’ car park” above their entrance. To avoid a £100 fine please park on the right side or consider using other local parking facilities.

Hearing Loop

The surgery has a portable hearing loop for patients hard of hearing with a hearing aid to use. If you would like to use this when you attend the surgery, either in reception or while seeing the Doctor or nurse, please let reception know. You will need to switch your hearing aid to the ‘T’ position.

Loan of Blood Pressure Machines

Please could all patients ensure that if one of our blood pressure machines is loaned to you for monitoring your blood pressure at home, that it is returned promptly after 1 week and in the condition it was loaned.  There is a waiting list for these machines.

Home Visits

Home Visits are ONLY for patients who are too ill, infirm or severely disabled to come to the surgery. We are unable to offer a visiting service purely because someone has a temperature or a rash. Coming to the Medical Centre will do no harm, and arrangements can be made to isolate potentially infectious cases.

Home visits are time consuming and often inefficient. You will probably be seen more quickly, and necessary investigations and treatments will be easier to carry out, if you come to us where we have better equipment and facilities available. We do however, appreciate this may not always be possible.

We expect patients to try their utmost to attend the surgery.  Patients should explore options available to them to attend (e.g. Taxis, Dial a Ride, Relatives, Friends, Neighbours etc. before requesting a home visit). The NHS has stated specifically that transport problems are not an acceptable reason for requesting a visit.

Requests for Home Visits should be made before 10:00am where possible.

Please telephone the surgery on 01708 775300.  A Receptionist will request some details of your medical problem and ask you to confirm your telephone number  so that a clinician can assess your need for a visit and the urgency.  The GP may phone you back to discuss your problem with you in more detail.  The decision to visit will remain at the discretion of the GP, and will be based upon medical necessity.

If you require a home visit, please telephone 01708 775300 between 8.30am and 10:00am at the latest. Unfortunately, with home visits we cannot guarantee you will be seen by any particular doctor.

Visits are normally carried out between 9am-11am.
