Nurse & Flu Clinics

Nurse Practitioner

Our nurse practitioner is a nurse prescriber who provides a service as the first point of contact for patients with new problems. She also advises, supports and counsels patients on health and social matters relating to their health and wellbeing.

Nurse Clinics

Our highly trained and qualified practice nurses work very closely with the doctors and are trained to do a wide range of procedures and tests. These include:

Family Planning Clinic: 

  • Contraceptive advice
  • Follow up pills and injections
  • Coil checks
  • follow up on HRT
  • Cervical smears

Well Women Clinic: 

 

 

Well Person’s Clinic: 

  • No need to be unwell, just come along to see one of our nurses who will give you a basic health check.

There are emergency slots available to see nurses who can advise and treat:

  • minor ailments
  • chronic disease, such as asthma, diabetes, hypertension (blood pressure) and viral infections.
  • Please ask for an appointment at Reception.

Health Checks:

  • The nurses are now providing health checks for patients between the ages of 40-74 years who are not already known to have heart disease or diabetes.

Flu Clinics

Please call reception for an appointment to have flu jab – these usually become available mid-to late September every year.

 

Anti-pneumonia jab In addition, if you are aged 65 or over or are in one of the ‘at risk’ groups outlined above you should have an anti-pneumonia jab. If you have not had an anti-pneumonia vaccination please ask the nurse about this.
