Tests & Results

When you attend for a test of any kind you will be told how long you should expect to wait for the results. Please bear this in mind and only call the surgery after sufficient time has elapsed.

Doctors will add a comment to your results, which the reception are able to relay to you over the phone. We would urge all patients to contact the surgery if they have not received any communication regarding their results, as occasionally results are not received, and your timely call to us will alert us accordingly.

If the doctor feels your results require further action, arrangements will be made for you to be contacted.

Please telephone the surgery between 3-6pm to enquire about your test results as our reception staff will have more time to deal with your request between these times.

Sample urine/swabs and should be received by 11.30am to ensure that they get to the hospital on the same day.

Please note that we do have a strict policy regarding confidentiality and data protection. In this respect we will only give out results to the person they relate to unless that person has given prior permission for their release or if they are not capable of understanding them.
